Regular maintenance is important, a well-maintained car will extend the life of the vehicle, increase its fuel economy, reduce the risk of a breakdown, or worse still, an accident.
Getting your car regularly serviced will also help to maintain its value for when it comes to selling, a full service book will often lead to a more confident sale.
Every scenario is different
Every car is used differently, and therefore each will have its own individual needs as the miles go by.
Low mileage covering cars won’t require servicing as often as a high miler, but low mileage cars can still develop issues, and even some that a high mileage car may not.
High mileage cars may require multiple services in a year, usually an extra Interim service gives the car an oil refresh and an extra check around the car to make sure it’s still safe while covering the longer distances.
In your handbook, you will often find all of the relevant service information that the Manufacturer recommends, this will include the correct tyre pressures, oil specifications, and at what intervals each service item should be replaced.
